During this webinar we will talk about careers unplugged. During my time working with undergraduate students, I have enjoyed listening and exploring different career options with them. In listening, I have heard requests to incorporate more hands -on and engaging classroom activities to explore career options. In Fall 2022, I utilized our campus makerspace (Wakerspace) to explore various tools and technologies like 3D printers, laser cutters, woodworking tools, painting, and sewing machines. Every makerspace class we made something to the delight of the students. I have applied many of the great outcomes from this Fall 2022 class in my current classes. The response has been overwhelmingly positive from students. I hope to share my findings of exploring career options with the assistance of a makerspace, and how it can translate to your respective career-oriented counseling.
