  Want to get your Regional Coffee & Chat started? Follow these simple steps:

  1. Identify a location.
  Look for a local coffee shop, café, library, community space, or other welcoming location that could accommodate a small gathering. In my region, we are currently talking with the owner of a small, quaint coffee café about hosting our group.

  2. Pick a date and time.
  Once you have a location, coordinate a date and time that works well for your region. It doesn't have to be complicated — the goal is simply to create a consistent opportunity for people to gather and connect.

  3. Share the details!
  The Outreach & Community Engagement Committee will help advertise your RC&C in the NCCDA newsletter announcements so members and others in your region have an opportunity to join.

  For complete information, go to:  NCDA | Webinars Making the Career and Mental Health Connection: Strategies for Career Development Professionals Thursday, October 29, 2026 12:00-1:00pm ET Panel Facilitators: Jennifer Curry and Jodi Manton, co-editors of the new NCDA’s new monograph, The Mental Health and Career Development Nexus: A Framework for the Role and Function of Career Practitioners.  Career development and mental health are closely connected, yet they are often addressed separately. Career uncertainty, academic and workplace stress, career transitions, and concerns about identity and purpose can affect well-being, while mental health can influence career decision-making, exploration, and adaptability. This one-hour webinar features a panel of professionals discussing the relationship between career development and mental health across educational and workplace settings. Panelists will explore practical strategies for supporting individuals holistically, recognizing when career concerns may signal broader mental health needs, and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries and referral practices. Participants will leave with greater awareness of the career–mental health connection and practical strategies they can apply in their work. Presenters:  Jennifer R. Curry, Ph.D., NCC, is the Vira Franklin and James R. Eagles Professor of Counseling in the College of Human Sciences and Education at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. She is the author of six books on career development. Her research interests include K-20 career and college readiness and the STEM pipeline.     Jodi H. Manton, Ph.D., NCC, is an Associate Professor of Professional Practice at Louisiana State University, working with students in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling. A Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor, National Certified Counselor, and former school counselor, she has practiced in inpatient, community, and educational settings and currently owns a private practice where she works with adolescents and adults addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, and identity concerns.
