Career professionals rely on intentional inquiry and guided exploration to support students and clients through career development and life transitions. The card sort system developed by JP Michel reframes traditional career conversations—shifting the focus from “What job do you want?” to “What challenges do you want to solve?”—encouraging deeper reflection on purpose, motivation, and values.

This webinar introduces a practical, purpose-driven tool that helps individuals identify the motivators and values that influence their interests and decision-making. Participants will explore how strengthening self-awareness and self-efficacy through this approach can support more meaningful career exploration and adaptable goal setting. Applications across classrooms, workshops, and one-on-one coaching settings will be highlighted.

JP Michel is the creator of the Challenge mindset and the Challenge Cards, which have been used by more than 100,000 students around the world.

His past consultancy work with leaders led to the creation of SparkPath, an innovative career exploration company spotlighted on the Forbes, TEDx, CBC and BBC. Recognized as the 2022 Outstanding Career Leader by the Career Professionals of Canada, JP holds a degree in psychology from the University of Ottawa and a master's degree in industrial-organizational psychology from the University of Manchester.
